Passed this whimsically named saloon on my way to "The Digital Cup", a great little Internet cafe. Also in Wasilla.

Here is an article covering the closing of the Dead Dog Saloon. Apparently now, with the influx of population, a supermarket nearby and an Alaska State Troopers substation on the same property, the owners felt the area no longer had the rough-and-tumble environment desirable to continue running a self respecting bar.

Must have been a popular place. An Obituary on the web, stated that Memorial Services/Celebration for a local resident would be held at the Dead Dog Saloon.

Former Alaska Railroad station in Wasilla, AK was built in 1917 and is now used by the Chamber of Commerce.
